Caring For Those In Our Community
Trinity UMC cares deeply for our community - both within the church and outside of it too. Besides regular outreach and service projects in the community, Trinity UMC also houses other ministries like a Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts Troop, Foster Care respite nights, regular Family 2 Family workdays, and more.
Trinity United Methodist Church is a Stephens Ministry congregation, meaning confidential, free, Christ-centered one-to-one lay person care is given to those who are experiencing a time of grief or illness, going through a divorce, or experiencing other major life transitions.
When there is a 5th Sunday in a month, Trinity UMC serves at the local Community Kitchen for the week from 8:30 a.m. to noon, preparing lunches, serving the meals, and creating community with those they serve.
Floyd County has one of the highest number of children in Foster Care in the state of Georgia. Restoration Rome is a local non-profit that provides programs and resources to equip, mentor, and support parents, foster parents, and foster children. Trinity UMC partners with Restoration Rome for Christmas celebration parties, service days, food and clothing drives, and more.
Rise Against Hunger
Rise Against Hunger has provided nourishing food to more than 820 million people by equipping and empowering local farmers and providing families with packaged dry meals. Trinity UMC hosts meal packing parties to pack meals to send to those in need.
Murphy Harpst Children’s Center
Murphy Harpst is a local non-profit that specializes on providing care to abused, neglected, and at-risk youth. Trinity UMC partners with Murphy Harpst to help provide physical items that the center needs, hosts workdays to clean-up the campus, and intentionally prays for the youth in the program throughout the year.
